SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation refers to techniques used to obtain high ranking for your web pages in the search
engines. This SEO Guide will take you through that process.
According to James Brausch the ability of a web page to rank highly is determined by three factors:
The choice of url accounts for 20% of ranking factors
On page factors another 40%
Linking factors another 40%
James sells software to cover all three factors. You can check them out at his blog.

On Page SEO
On page search engine optimisation refers to factors within the code of your web pages. Most software will input the required
html elements automatically, so in the main on page seo relates to the amount and type of content that you put on the page.
The search engines like to see plenty of content on the page, so your pages should have a minimum of 500 words, and
preferably over 1000.
Outgoing links from your page are good, any amount of links up to 100 is a positive.
Google is reputed to have a team of human reviewers who have guidelines to identify "thin affiliate sites". In a nutshell, the
question that they ask themselves is "if all affiliate links are removed, does the site (or web page) provide something of value to the viewer?".
If it doesn't, it's likely to be flagged as a "thin affiliate site" and a ranking penalty applied. There are far to many websites online for
the Google reviewers to check even a tiny percentage of them, so my guess is that a review only happens when a site is reported to Google by a
competitor who objects to a thin site ranking highly.
